A GTK4 version of Service Manager is now available. This is a free upgrade for existing users.
What’s New
Name Change
This app was previously called Service Manager and is now renamed to Servo. The new name is shorter and easier to search for, than a generic name like Service Manager.
If you are an existing user, please re-run the installation command. It will install the new repo and packages.
GTK4 Version
A GTK4 version of Servo is now available for Ubuntu 24.04 (Noble) and later releases. This is a free upgrade for existing users.
Running the installation command will install the GTK4 version on distributions that support GTK4 (v4.14+) and libadwaita (v1.5+). This includes Ubuntu 24.04+, Fedora Workstation 40+, and ArchLinux.
The GTK3 version will be installed on older releases of Debian, Ubuntu, and Fedora.
To install the GTK3 package:
sudo apt install servo-gtk
To install the GTK4 package (Ubuntu 24.04 and later):
sudo apt install servo-gtk4
Only one of the 2 versions can be installed at a time. Installing the GTK4 package will remove the GTK3 version.
Timers
A new tab was added to show the Last Run and Next Run timings for systemd timers.
-
You can Stop a running timer to prevent it from executing the service at the Next Run time.
-
You can Start a stopped timer to execute the service at the Next Run time
-
Timers that are Enabled start automatically at boot time.
-
You can Disable a timer to prevent it from starting automatically at boot time.
-
You can Mask a timer to make it unusable. It must be Unmasked before it can be used again.
